Ron Steta and his world travels on a six string!

During the mid 80’s Ron spent much of his time on the road touring with various classic rocks bands such as The Turtles, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, The Grass Roots, The Monkee’s, Herman’s Hermits, The Byrds, Mark Lindsay, The Village People, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters, Shadows of Knight, The Blues Brothers, and more! Ron toured with major bands, and has traveled and performed in the lower 48 of the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Japan. I also finished my bucket list of all 50 states by playing in Hawaii and Alaska. I am proud to have had the opportunity to entertain the troops all over the Middle East including Iraq, Kuwait, Somalia, Bahrain, Qatar, and UAE with the 101st Rock Division.

Start Learning

I love teaching, and have learned just as much from my students as they have learned from me. I try to adapt and motivate people in many ways since everyone is different, my youngest student is 6 years old and my oldest student was a beginner at age 77. Overall, I am very proud of all of my students because I know how difficult it is, and the passion it takes to get a little better each week. The bottom line comes down to how bad you want to learn, your motivation, and you love it enough to practice!

Ron Steta grew up in a musical family in Chicago and started playing guitar at the age of 6. By the time he was 12, he was working as a professional guitar teacher for the family music stores and by the time he was 13 he joined the musicians union to start working as a professional guitarist. He played in rock and jazz bands all through high school and college including a performance for the legendary drummer, Buddy Rich. Currently I am performing with many talented musicians in the Chicagoland area, and teaching 100’s of students, which brings great joy and sense of accomplishment to me!
